Guys, my 18 YO son recently bought a nice 82 GS450T. After riding it about 1000 miles this summer with a new battery from Advance Auto parts, it failed to start one day. When we pulled it out again, it was about 1/4 low on all 6 cells. After refilling with distilled water, we got it push started and ran it about 50 miles in an effort to recharge it. My question is this- is this normal for bikes to overcharge the battery and boil it or is there a problem with whatever charging/alternator system is found on bikes?
